The Jedwabne pogrom was a massacre of Polish Jews in the town of Jedwabne, German-occupied Poland, on 10 July 1941, during World War II and the early stages of the Holocaust. After being controlled by Russia for two years, Jedwabne, a small town in northeastern Poland, was captured by Germany on June 22, 1941. The book revealed that the massacre of thousands of Jews during World War II in the Polish town of Jedwabne had not been carried out by the Nazis, but by their very Jedwabne.
